Constructing Realities

Over the next year I will be documenting creative communication with artists and non-artists regarding their participation and input into creating a constructed portrait. Meetings, correspondence and construction will be documented through diverse creative means and focused on discovering commonalities based on perception and memory. The photographs themselves will be largely based on themes shared by both photographer and subject. Some projects will be short and deliberate while others elaborate and layered.

The completed exhibition and multimedia book (Cranky Yellow publishing) will contain a large amount of ephemera collected and created by the photographer throughout the duration of the project in addition to multimedia documentation and supporting projects created by participants. In the end, the photographs will act as a culminating document and marker of memory.

Present and future collaborators include Simiya Sudduth, Cindy Tower, Robert Long, Sean Nitchman, Michael Reis, Carolyn Simmons Noon, Sarah Paulsen, David Wolk, Lyndsay Scott, Keith Buckholz, Jordan Hicks, Michael Allen Ross & more.

Create <=> Action

On January 15th I distributed a series of creative action projects geared towards awareness, urban love, and community interaction. The comment portion of this post contains the results and/or documentation of these projects. This project will result in a culmination to be announced at a later date.

Information for participants:

4. There is an intent to compile projects into a book and/or show. If you are not consenting then don't post your project.

This is an invitation to you whoever you are.
The project/event begins at 8pm sharp on Thursday January 15th.
It will be in a South City neighborhood in St Louis Missouri.

Your instructions are:
Bring no expectations, a wrapped gift costing no more than $1 (not for me).
Warm clothes and a bike if you have one.
